5 Dresses under £25

Happy new year everyone! I'm so happy to bring this blog post to you, this was one of my new years resolutions and a week into 2017 and I'm actually doing it! This is going to be the year that I get things done and I'm not going to let my own self doubt stop me.

It's said that January is one of the most depressing times of the year but it doesn't have to be. One word, sales! I know a lot of us don't have much money at this time of the year and with that in mind I wanted to show you 5 dresses I bought in the sale from asos. They're currently having an up to 70% off sale and they have some really stunning pieces going really really cheap.

Dress number 1

This dress is from Alice and You which is one of my absolute favourite plus size brands at the moment and they feature heavily in this post. Their dresses are really fun and flirty and they have the most gorgeous floral prints.

This little floral skater dress is such a dream. I wasn't sure about the dress when I first ordered it, the cut out is something I haven't really seen before and I wasn't sure how it was going to look on my size 22 body, especially since you have to wear the dress braless which is something I rarely do. I've gotta say I LOVE this dress, it's one of my favourite pieces I've bought in a long time. I think the cut out is so cute and different and just a little bit daring which is something I want to be more of in 2017. The bell sleeves and the beautiful floral print make for a boho/vintage look which is something I'm really into at the moment. I bought this dress for £16 which is absolute steal and you can find it on asos here. Asos are also selling this dress which is very similar but a little bit more expensive.

Dress number 2

This is another one from Alice and You. I adore the colour of this dress so so much. I ordered this in a UK size 24 and it came up a little big. I've had experiences with high cut dresses being tight around my neck in the past but this dress has generous sizing and I should have sized down to a UK 22. The dress has a swing cut and for me, looked a little shapeless on my body so I added a belt around my waist to create a different silhouette. The high neck line would have been something I would have avoided in the past because it brings attention to my double chin but I'm slowly but surely learning to love and embrace that part of my body and I think this dress frames my chubby little face perfectly. This dress is currently on sale for £18 on asos and they still have many sizes available. You can pick up this dress here.

Dress number 3

For me, this dress is the embodiment of perfection. Green + Velvet + Lace = Everything I am into. I bought this swing dress in a UK size 22 and it's from a brand called Club L Plus and I own quite a few of their pieces. They make really beautiful dresses meant to make you stand out in the crowd which I think is something that is greatly needed in the plus size clothing industry because so many retailers miss the mark and create clothes meant to hide us away and that's not what we want to do! 2017 is the year fat girls are going to be seen so much more than ever.

My favourite thing about this dress is the lace sleeves which makes it a little different from a lot of the other velvet dresses being sold right now (and the ones already in my wardrobe). I am so glad I own this dress, I love it so much. It fits perfectly and is the dress of my velvety green mermaid dreams. You can buy this dress here for £20.

Dress number 4

This cami dress is another one from Alice and You, they are my absolute favourite brand for cute little floral dresses right now.I bought this in UK size 22 and I love it to the moon and back, it's one of my most worn pieces. The beautiful print, relaxed fit and a midi length makes for the perfect stylish but comfy day dress. This dress is nearly sold out on asos's website but if this is your kind of thing then I urge you to check out the rest of Alice and You's collection. You can shop the dress here and the rest of their collection here

Dress number 5

The last dress I'm featuring is this gorgeous skater dress from AX Paris that I bought in a UK size 24. I normally size up when a dress has a zip on the back and I was right to do so because this dress fits me perfectly. The fabric has a slight stretch to it and it's just so lovely and comfy and easy to wear. High neck lines and long sleeves are something I'm really into at the moment, I think they just look really chic and sophisticated and it's a style I haven't really worn before and this year I want to come out of my comfort zone and try new things and expand my style. I bought this dress for £24 and you can buy it here

Plus size clothing can be really expensive and I know not everyone has extra money to spend on £40 dresses and that is why I thought I'd write this post, to show that there's always sales going on and if you look around you can find some really good deals and it's not going to break the bank to treat yourself to something nice. All of these shops are currently having sales, Dorothy Perkins, New Look, Boohoo and Simply Be.

That concludes my first ever blog post! Thank you so much for reading and I hope to have something new for you to read very soon x
