Velvet is one of my absolute favourite things to wear so I decided to create a little look book featuring my most loved velvet pieces. I'm not in a situation where I can buy new things to blog about every week so a lot of this stuff is quite old but I think a lot of these looks match current trends quite well and I just wanted to showcase a few ways you could rock velvet! You don't have to buy something new to look stylish, mix and match old things to create new looks.
90's Babe
So I've been watching a lot of Sabrina the teenage witch lately, my boyfriend bought me the box set for Christmas and I'd be lying if I said I haven't been binge watching it on my days off. I grew up in the 90's and I kind of cherish that part of my life, I will forever love Pokemon, Buffy the vampire slayer and of course Sabrina the teenage witch. 90's fashion has made it's way back in style and you can find yourself lots of pieces to help you imitate your favourite 90's fictional character. Whether it be Cher Horowitz and her matchy matchy co-ords or Carrie Bradshaw and her tulle skirts.
Birthday Girl
So on Saturday I said goodbye to being 23 and said hello to being 24! Birthdays and the reminder that I'm getting older tends to stress me out a little because I always feel like I haven't achieved anything. And I guess I haven't achieved any of the big life things I want to do...I'm still in the same retail job, I'm still living at home and I haven't learned how to drive yet but when I really think about my 23rd year in this world, there's lots of little things I've done that I'm really proud of myself for doing. At the start of last year, I started therapy for the second time for my anxiety and depression and unlike the first time I actually managed to show up to every appointment and talk about things and think about my behaviors and it honestly helped so much. A year on I can say my mental health is the best it's ever been. My confidence has grown in leaps and bounds, my relationship with my body is better than ever and I am just so happy and in love and for the first time ever I'm feeling really optimistic about the future. I guess for me birthdays can be a little bitter sweet but they serve as a reminder that I'm still here, that I made it another year and that I need to keep growing and working towards being the best person I can be.
5 Dresses under £25
Happy new year everyone! I'm so happy to bring this blog post to you, this was one of my new years resolutions and a week into 2017 and I'm actually doing it! This is going to be the year that I get things done and I'm not going to let my own self doubt stop me.
It's said that January is one of the most depressing times of the year but it doesn't have to be. One word, sales! I know a lot of us don't have much money at this time of the year and with that in mind I wanted to show you 5 dresses I bought in the sale from asos. They're currently having an up to 70% off sale and they have some really stunning pieces going really really cheap.
