River Island Sale
This dress is so different to anything I've ever owned before, the shape and cut is so cool and on trend and not the kind of thing you see very often in plus size sections. I think River Island are doing such a great job at offering up some amazing plus size pieces that are really fashion forward and I love that they're not sticking to any of the rules of what people think plus size women should wear. They're creating stand out pieces meant to celebrate plus size women and their bodies and I just appreciate that so much.
River Island Sale
Jumpsuits are a new favourite of mine, they're really comfy and easy to wear in the summer and they just look so chic and stylish. I bought this from River Islands summer sale and at £15 this is such a steal for such a high quality piece of clothing. The embroidery is so so beautiful and it adds the perfect splash of colour to this all black jumpsuit.
River Island sale
This outfit cost £15!! Fifteen pounds!! I'm so fond of a good bargain and these two pieces from the River Island sale are so cheap and chic. Stripes are bang on trend at the moment and this subtle mix of vertical and horizontal stripes is a really great way to rock the trend. I pretty much adore anything lace and this pleated lace midi skirt is so gorgeous and comfy and can be worn with so many things. I chose to style this with a black and white bodysuit and some ankle boots for a more causal off duty look but this could be paired with a black top and your favourite pair of heels for a more dressed up look.
River Island Sale
This is another of my favourite pieces I bought from the River Island sale. I just think this cami slip dress is so beautiful and classic and it's just the perfect little going out dress. When I bought this I wasn't sure if I was going to like it but the fabric is really high quality and a lot thicker than what I was expecting and it just sits so perfectly on my body.
River Island sale
Plus size clothing can be so expensive and as someone that only works a part time retail job it can be hard to find the money to buy myself something new. I'm pretty much always looking through clearance sections and sales to try and find myself a good bargain and at the moment River Island is having a great summer sale. I'm a huge fan of River Island but they can be quite expensive at times and sometimes it's hard to justify spending £50 on a dress. So over the next few days I'm going to be showcasing some of my favourite sale pieces, all under £20!!
Mesh is more
I'm really loving the grunge trend this summer and this outfit makes me feel sooo badass. My style normally changes with the seasons, I tend to wear lots of black in the winter and things my goth teenage self would have died to own and lots of light coloured hyper femme clothes in the warmer months so right now I'm having a lot of fun switching it up a bit and playing around with different looks.
Florals + Gingham
I've been lusting after this dress for ages now and I'm so so glad I finally bought it! This is the first dress I've bought from Lost Ink Plus and I am really happy with the quality and the fit. It's the perfect little summer dress and the gingham is bang on trend right now. As someone that loves florals as much as me, this dress just screamed buy me, buy me buy me!
Day/night
I bought this bardot dress a few weeks ago for a night out in Manchester and at first I wasn't sure if it was a going 'out out' dress. I've never really done florals for clubbing before, I normally stick to plain black a lot of the time and then those dresses get dubbed going out dresses and that's the only time I ever wear them. But when I saw this dress on River Island I just feel in love with it and thought it'd be a great buy because I could dress it up or down with the right accessoires and not just wear it for that one night out.
Summer staple
Summer suits me so much better than any other season, I feel my best when I'm wearing beautiful floral dresses and the summer sun is on my face. I saw this dress on asos a few weeks back and it's everything I'd ever want from a dress. The colour is so me, the floral print is gorgeous and I'm just a sucker for midi length dresses. I can honestly say this dress will be a staple in my summer wardrobe for years to come and it's no surprise that this piece was made by Alice and you, one of my favourite brands ever. I styled the dress with these lush tan booties from Miss Selfridge, I've been after some embroidered boots from awhile now but I wanted some with a small heel that I could wear day to day and these are just so comfy and lovely and I'm so happy I own them.
Swimsuit Heaven
When I saw this swimsuit on River Island's website I just knew I had to have it, everything about it is perfect to me, from the beautiful floral print to the plunge neckline and of course those cheeky little mesh panels on the side! I haven't bought a one piece swimsuit in such a long time, they kind of bring back bad memories of when I was younger and how they'd never fit properly. They'd always be too short and have to be constantly pulled up, they'd always be ugly and plain and never ever give good support. So when I bought this I have to be honest and say my expectations were low. I thought it looked amazing on the model but I didn't think it would fit my body let alone look good.
Springtime chic
I've never owned a jumpsuit before but when I saw this one from River Islands plus size range I just fell in love. I'm pretty much a sucker for anything floral and this print is just gorgeous and I thought it would be perfect for transitioning into the warmer weather. The fabric is quite thin so it is a little cold to wear right now but I styled it with this duster jacket that I bought from River Island last year and I think it'd be perfect for a day date or something where you're not subject to the elements for too long. I'm always the same around this time of the year, I get too excited for the summer and end up buying a bunch of things that I have to wait two months to wear because it's simply too cold out!
Ruffles
Ruffles are bang on trend right now and I think this dress from Very is the perfect way to rock the trend is a subtle way. This midi floral dress is all kinds of dreamy and wearing it makes me feel so floaty and feminine. It features a ruffled hem and is made from a beautiful light fabric perfect for the warmer months. I styled it with this gorgeous suedette biker jacket from Very to create the perfect transitional outfit for the winter to spring weather. I feel like this look is the embodiment of me, I just love wearing long pretty floral dresses and adding a little edge to it with a dark lip and a biker jacket. I bought both these pieces in a UK size 22 and they fit perfectly and I'm so happy I own them!
The Perfect Green Coat
My boyfriend would tell you that I already owned enough green coats before I bought this one but that just isn't true. I for one believe that you can never have enough green coloured clothes. I am so happy that in recent years we've seen so many more outerwear options for plus sizes. A few years ago the only coats I owned were black but now there are so many more stylish and colourful options for us to choose from. This coat is something out of my dreams, I love it so much. I came across it in the new New Look store in the Trafford Centre (which now carries plus sizes, thank you!!) and I tried it on and didn't want to take it off. I bought this in a UK size 22 and it fits a little snug but regardless this coat makes me feel all kinds of glamorous and fabulous. I foolishly bought this at full price but it's currently on sale here for anyone else that dreams in green like me.
Valentines
Happy Valentines day everyone!
Buying new underwear for myself around Valentines day is kind of a tradition for me, regardless of whether I wear it for anyone, new undies make me feel good and I think it's important to practice lots of self love on Valentines day, after all Valentines day isn't just for couples but an opportunity to show everyone in your life how much you love and appreciate them and that includes you too!
Little Velvet Lookbook
Velvet is one of my absolute favourite things to wear so I decided to create a little look book featuring my most loved velvet pieces. I'm not in a situation where I can buy new things to blog about every week so a lot of this stuff is quite old but I think a lot of these looks match current trends quite well and I just wanted to showcase a few ways you could rock velvet! You don't have to buy something new to look stylish, mix and match old things to create new looks.
90's Babe
So I've been watching a lot of Sabrina the teenage witch lately, my boyfriend bought me the box set for Christmas and I'd be lying if I said I haven't been binge watching it on my days off. I grew up in the 90's and I kind of cherish that part of my life, I will forever love Pokemon, Buffy the vampire slayer and of course Sabrina the teenage witch. 90's fashion has made it's way back in style and you can find yourself lots of pieces to help you imitate your favourite 90's fictional character. Whether it be Cher Horowitz and her matchy matchy co-ords or Carrie Bradshaw and her tulle skirts.
Birthday Girl
So on Saturday I said goodbye to being 23 and said hello to being 24! Birthdays and the reminder that I'm getting older tends to stress me out a little because I always feel like I haven't achieved anything. And I guess I haven't achieved any of the big life things I want to do...I'm still in the same retail job, I'm still living at home and I haven't learned how to drive yet but when I really think about my 23rd year in this world, there's lots of little things I've done that I'm really proud of myself for doing. At the start of last year, I started therapy for the second time for my anxiety and depression and unlike the first time I actually managed to show up to every appointment and talk about things and think about my behaviors and it honestly helped so much. A year on I can say my mental health is the best it's ever been. My confidence has grown in leaps and bounds, my relationship with my body is better than ever and I am just so happy and in love and for the first time ever I'm feeling really optimistic about the future. I guess for me birthdays can be a little bitter sweet but they serve as a reminder that I'm still here, that I made it another year and that I need to keep growing and working towards being the best person I can be.
5 Dresses under £25
Happy new year everyone! I'm so happy to bring this blog post to you, this was one of my new years resolutions and a week into 2017 and I'm actually doing it! This is going to be the year that I get things done and I'm not going to let my own self doubt stop me.
It's said that January is one of the most depressing times of the year but it doesn't have to be. One word, sales! I know a lot of us don't have much money at this time of the year and with that in mind I wanted to show you 5 dresses I bought in the sale from asos. They're currently having an up to 70% off sale and they have some really stunning pieces going really really cheap.
