I bought this bardot dress a few weeks ago for a night out in Manchester and at first I wasn't sure if it was a going 'out out' dress. I've never really done florals for clubbing before, I normally stick to plain black a lot of the time and then those dresses get dubbed going out dresses and that's the only time I ever wear them. But when I saw this dress on River Island I just feel in love with it and thought it'd be a great buy because I could dress it up or down with the right accessoires and not just wear it for that one night out.
This dress is honestly so gorgeous and just so comfy!! I don't feel like I have to wear a bra with this, I've danced my little heart out in this dress and the bardot neck line stays in place and I don't have to worry about it riding up or falling down on me. The dress is made out of a beautiful textured almost lace type material and is slightly sheer towards the bottom which gives a sexy vibe to the midi length. All in all I just love this dress and I'm generally so impressed with everything from River Island this season. I think I'm going to live in this dress this summer and I wanted to show you two ways I styled it.
For this first look I just added a light coat I bought last year from h&m and a pair of white Fred Perry plimsolls. I bought these a few weeks back, I've been meaning to get my hands on a pair of all white plimsolls for awhile now and I love this pair so much. They look so cute and casual and can be paired with most dresses for a more casual day look. For the most part I don't do causal very much, I'm always the overdressed one and it's something I want to change. I absolutely love all my girly dresses but would like to branch out a little with my style, just wearing white plimsolls with a dress seems like a big deal to me and I'm excited to see what other firsts will be joining my wardrobe this year.

Dress - River Island Shoes - Fred Perry via Very Coat - h&m
For this next look I've added some accessories and a killer pair of shoes to create an outfit perfect for an evening out. This edgy look makes me feel all kinds of badass and is on trend with the 90's grunge look. I added a pair of big silver hoop earrings and a black cut out heart choker from Asos Curve. I recently bought a choker from Asos in their standard sizing and struggled to get it round my neck so I am so happy retailers are paying attention to detail and offering plus size accessories. This choker fits perfectly and is really simple but adds a lot to the look.
Now lets talk about these shoes! These shoes are everything and more, I love them so so much. I think these shoes were made to be worn with this dress, they compliment each other so well. I bought these gorgeous booties on Very and was worried that they'd be too high and I wouldn't be able to walk in them but as someone that doesn't wear heels much I can say they are so easy to walk in and because they're a shoe boot style they have really good ankle support. I also love that they don't have anything round where the heel of my foot sits because my poor feet normally take a beating when I wear heels but after a night of dancing I only had two small blisters on my big toe from where the eyelets sit. So not perfect but I have yet to come across a pair of heels that don't hurt after 8 hours of wearing them.
I forgot to mention that the shoes are another piece from River Island, up until a few months ago River Island were not even on my radar, I'd never considered buying from them before but with the addition of their plus size range RI Plus my eye's have been opened up to all the other great things they offer and I just think they're a really on trend company that's also quite affordable. If you haven't already checked them out I highly recommend you do, they have some really great pieces in their sale section right now!
